- Worthing’s Central Fire Station was erected and opened in 1904. The Fire Station closed in 1961 and the Fire Service transferred to a new building in Ardsheal Road, Broadwater, which opened in 1962. A tyre service company used the old Fire Station building for a few years until 1969 when it was demolished
